M3 MacBook Pro With Touch Bar Not Expected To Be Announced At Apple’s October 30 ‘Scary Fast’ Event-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 11:33 AM

Apple’s upcoming October 30 ‘Scary Fast’ event has had a boatload of haphazard predictions that are all over the place regarding reliability. In the latest report, the 13-inch M3 MacBook Pro featuring the Touch Bar may not see a launch, but there are still a ton of hardware releases in tow.

Though Apple is working on a 13-inch M3 MacBook Pro, its release will not happen at the event

Earlier, it was predicted by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that Apple would push forth with a family of Macs featuring the M3 chipset later this month due to poor sales of M2 models. And now, we have Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who says that the 13-inch MacBook Pro launch will not materialize at the event. According to the key details spotted by MacRumors, Gurman states that while the portable Mac codenamed ‘J504’ exists as the base version, Apple will most likely not unveil it at the event.

With the 13-inch MacBook Pro seemingly out of the picture, Gurman does not mention if Apple will unveil its cutting-edge silicon for its computing products. The M3 is said to be only the second 3nm chipset from the company after the A17 Pro to be featured in a variety of hardware. However, a previously-leaked MacBook Pro retail box showing a black wallpapercirculating the internet is sufficient evidence that we will see a new machine at the event, but which one?

It is possible that Apple will introduce a refresh of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro a few days from now, along with a new iMac that will likely feature the M2. As for the 13-inch and 15-inch versions of the MacBook Air, Gurman did not provide an update, suggesting that these will not launch less than a week from now.

The Bloomberg reporter does not expect any new devices, such as AirPods, to be announced either. This means that October 30 will be a Mac-only event. Still, the ‘Scary Fast’ tagline provides a sliver of hope that we might see the M3 in action, and Apple might finally provide a worthy successor after the M2 turned out to be just an amped-up version of the M1.
