Netflix Is Going To See A Price Increase Once The Ongoing Actors Strike Ends-February 2024
Feb 11, 2026 10:33 PM

The fact that no one loves a price hike is a rather obvious one. However, with the economic conditions around the world and various other circumstances, there are things that we simply cannot avoid. Netflix is about to get more expensive, and this change will start in the United States and Canada.

Netflix increasing its prices shouldn't be a big thing, as all other streaming platforms are doing the same, and it is for a good cause

Back in March 2022, the company raised its prices, and while that did not make that big of a dent, it's happening again. Based on a report, Netflix is looking to raise the prices once the Hollywood actor's strike comes to an end. We still don't know when the strike will end, but the Writers Guild of America announced a tentative deal with studios last week, and this has prompted the Screen Actors Guild to start their negotiations all over again.

The report also talks about how Netflix will be announcing the price increase once the strike officially comes to an end. There is still no word for those wondering how much the price will increase, but the report has mentioned that the price increase will start in the U.S. and Canada first. There is also indication that the price increase will take place in other countries, as well.

Various Hollywood studios have come to a tentative agreement with the Writers Guild of America, which states that there will be a significant increase in minimum pay, protection against the use of AI tools, compensation, and many more perks for writers.

Honestly, this definitely is good news for all the hardworking writers in Hollywood. As far as the price increase itself is concerned, we are not really sure how much it is going to be. Chances are that it might not be a lot to begin with. But we will update you as soon as we learn more. Another important thing to note is that Netflix is not the only streaming service that will see a price increase, as other platforms will also experience the same.
