New Macs Will Launch This Month, As New Report Goes Against Earlier Predictions But No M3 Models In Tow-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 1:37 AM

Apple may not be preparing any new iPads for this year, but for those who wanted to see a Mac, fortune has favored you, as a new report states that the company is set to unveil a new lineup of products. Unfortunately, those who were expecting the showcasing of the cutting-edge M3 and the Macs, which will feature the new custom SoC, that launch is still slated for 2024.

Apple will likely announce a new 24-inch iMac, which is long overdue for a hardware update

At the end of the month, Mark Gurman, in his ‘Power On’ newsletter, states that a new iMac will be released. The model with the M1 was released back in 2021, so it was only a matter of time before Apple released an update. Sadly, this ‘All in One’ is about the only hardware release that we are expected to see in the coming week because Gurman makes no mention of any other Mac.

“I believe the Mac announcement will take place on either the 30th or 31st of this month. Apple is holding earnings on Nov. 2. It will be the first time since 2018 that the company posts its quarterly results in November (usually it occurs in late October). The last time this happened, the earnings followed an iPad and Mac event on Oct. 30.”

Seeing as how the 2021 iMac featured the M1, Apple is expected to kit out the latest version with the M2. The company will likely retain the same display size, resolution, and possibly the exact chassis when announcing the new version, as a machine with just a chipset update does not require a fresh design. The M1 and M2 were featured in the same MacBook Pro model with a Touch Bar, so it is not difficult to believe that Apple will introduce an identical exterior by the end of this month.

However, one advantage of owning an M2 iMac would be that, according to a previous rumor, this model would bring Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 support. This particular rumor also stated that the new iMac would give customers the option to outfit the machine with an M2 Pro, though we doubt that is Apple’s actual plan. As for the M3 models, we will keep our fingers crossed for next year and see what arrives.
