It is safe to say that Nothing appears to be working on a new phone called the Nothing Phone 2a. The phone is going to fill the gap between Phone 1 and Phone 2. The phone leaked earlier this week, and it once again appeared with a bit more information on the specs and the software it is running.
The Nothing Phone 2a looks to be a good offering for those who are looking for a new budget phone
The leak suggests that the Nothing Phone 2a will have the model number AIN142. You are also going to get a 6.7-inch 120HZ AMOLED display with a center hole-punch 16-megapixel camera. On the back, there is a 50-megapixel camera, and a pretty respectable 4,920mAh battery is also supposed to be there.

The image above shows the About Phone page of the Nothing Phone 2a, and it appears to be running Nothing OS 2.5, which is based on Android 14. Now we do know that this is not the Nothing Phone 1 because the first one had its front camera on the left instead of the center. So, it is definitely borrowing some design languages from the Nothing Phone 2, which certainly is a good thing.
Sadly, at the time of writing, the details about the new Nothing Phone 2a are sparse, but considering the frequency of these leaks, it would be safe to assume that we are getting the new phone sooner rather than later. As far as the pricing is concerned, we are expecting that the phone is going to cost less than the Nothing Phone 2 and more than the original, which makes sense as it is somewhere in the middle.
You can expect Nothing to make a formal announcement for the Nothing Phone 2a. It could either be towards the end of this year or sometime next year. Whatever the case may be, we will be sure to let you know as soon as more details appear on what the company is planning.
