NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU To Get Preliminary Support In HWiNFO-April 2024

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU seems to be receiving early support within the popular diagnostic utility, HWiNFO.

HWiNFO Is Bringing NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU Support As Rumors/Leaks Mount Up

Now news about NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 40 "SUPER" family of GPUs has been revolving around the past days, which hints towards the fact that NVIDIA might launch a "refresh" lineup of the original Ada Lovelace GPUs. Speculations of a refresh date back months ago, where initially it was thought that NVIDIA would introduce it with the "Ti" or "SUPER" branding, but it looks like NVIDIA might be opting for the latter option.

While there are certain SKUs rumored to launch under the new lineup, this coverage will focus on the rumored NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER. There were talks about an "upgraded" RTX 4080 variant, which pointed towards the fact that NVIDIA might take a "refresh" approach with Ada GPUs. However, this rumor gained more traction with our previous coverage, & now with HWiNFO putting out support for the RTX 4080 SUPER, it seems like there must be some sort of accuracy to these reports.

Speaking of the rumored specifications, there have been rumors that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER can utilize a mix of AD102/AD103 GPU based on the inventory levels. It is rumored that the GPU might feature 20 GB GDDRX memory along with a 320-bit interface but if the RTX 4080 SUPER houses the AD103, the GPU will be confined to 256-bit which would lead to a lower VRAM capacity.

It is necessary to highlight that regardless of the industry rumors, the existence of "SUPER" GPUs is still not official hence we can't ensure what products will launch, what the final specs will be & what the prices are going to look like. All of these are mere speculation and rumors at this point and the green team is known to finalize things only very close to launch.
