Samsung is still in the process of rolling out One UI 6.0 to supported devices, but new evidence suggests that the company has also started working on One UI 6.1. Compared to its predecessor, this one will be a small update but will have some significant changes that have not found their way into the older version.

Samsung really wants you to be able to protect your phone's battery with even better battery protection in One UI 6.1

One of the features that was discovered today is in the form of a battery protection feature, which basically ensures that your phone's battery is being charged the right way. Now, keep in mind that the battery protection feature is already a part of One UI, but with One UI 6.1, it will offer more options that you can use to handle your experience better. The source claims that One UI 6.1 will offer you three levels of battery protection that you can use. The Basic will pause the charging at 100% and will resume at 95%. If you want to go for adaptive, then it will slow down once the battery reaches 80% and will charge slowly overnight to 100% until you wake up. This is a feature that is available on OxygenOS, as well. The last one is Max, which will essentially ensure that the battery charging stops at 80%.

Of course, the purpose of this feature is to ensure that users who are planning on using their phones for longer periods of time do not have to go through the process where their batteries start deteriorating. These methods have proven to be effective, and One UI 6.1 adding more customization to this is definitely a good sign and shows that the company is committed to delivering an excellent software experience.

There is currently no timeline on when the One Ui 6.1 update will roll out, but my guess is that we are most likely going to see this new version debut on the Galaxy S24 series, which is due next month. However, if Samsung does quietly push the update out, we will be sure to let you know.
