The closer we get to the OnePlus 12's launch, the more information we are getting about the upcoming flagship. The good thing about the company is that it does not keep everything hidden from the viewers and keeps revealing more and more details about the phone as we inch closer to the launch.
The OnePlus 12 is sounding more like a flagship killer, with new details coming forward
Earlier today, we heard about how the phone is going to feature the world's first Bionic Vibration Motor Turbo - the company claims that this vibration motor will make the vibration on the OnePlus 12 stronger than any other phone in the industry, even iPhones. Now, the company has disseminated some more information on the phone, indicating that they cannot wait to bring out a seriously powerful device to the market.
The company has shared more details about the OnePlus 12, starting with its under-display fingerprint scanner. OnePlus has been using optical fingerprint scanners for as long as we have seen under-display fingerprint scanners, and while good, they are not as fast as ultra-sonic fingerprint scanners and definitely not as secure. However, the company might change that as it announced that it will use an “ultra-thin under-screen fingerprint scanner." Sadly, it is not mentioned here whether it will be optical or ultra-sonic, but considering how the company has mentioned that it will be ultra-thin, there is a chance that it will be the latter since optical fingerprint scanners are basically cameras right under the screen.
The OnePlus 12 will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is an excellent choice, but considering its flagship processor, there might be instances of heating and thermal throttling. To address this issue, the company has decided to use the “world’s first integrated dual-cycle heat dissipation system." In addition, the phone will use, for the first time in the smartphone industry, a 9,140mm² vapor chamber, which will cover an area of 38,547mm².
It has become rather evident that the company is not willing to stop here with the advancements. The OnePlus 12 looks like a promising smartphone from the company and could easily help reinvigorate the company's name in the industry considering how we have had some misses in the past. The phone will see its Chinese launch on 5th December, later this month, with an international launch planned for January 2024.
