OnePlus has managed to find the perfect release pattern for its smartphones. The company has the main flagship phones that are reserved for both international and domestic markets, and then there are some phones that are exclusive to the domestic market but later come to international markets as rebranded offerings. Today, the company has announced OnePlus Ace 2V, which very well could be the OnePlus Nord 3.
OnePlus Ace 2V looks excellent on paper but cuts some significant corners in terms of camera and build quality
So what is the OnePlus Ace 2V all about? Well, you are getting a cheaper phone than the rest of the OnePlus phones in the market, but you still get some competent specs. The company is opting for a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset instead of going with a more expensive Snapdragon offering. The OnePlus Ace 2V also packs a 6.74-inch flag OLED display with 2,772x1,240 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is safe to say that the Chinese firm did not cheap out on the phone display.
Powering the OnePlus Ace 2V is a 5,000 mAh battery that charges at 80W. Sadly, there is no wireless charging support, but the company is generous enough to add a charger to the box, especially when all the companies are taking the chargers away.

Moving onto the optics, this is where OnePlus decided to cut corners. The OnePlus Ace 2V is an average phone in terms of the camera you are getting. There is a 64-megapixel primary camera without any OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front, you will find a 16-megapixel camera. The biggest disappointment here is the primary camera without any OIS because, in times like these, every budget phone does have a camera that brings in-body stabilization, so the whole idea of cutting this feature makes little to no sense.
Another area where the company has decided to cut costs is with the glass on the front. Instead of going with the traditional Gorilla Glass, the company is opting for AGC DT-Star2, and a quick Google search reveals that this glass is light in weight, flexible, offers good scratch resistance, and has great strength. But we will have to wait and see how it handles real-life use cases, but remember, at the end of the day, glass is glass.

The rest of the OnePlus Ace 2V consists of the famed alert slider, the Color 13-powered version of Android 13, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and an IR blaster, which, in other words, is a blast from the past.
All of this can be yours for 2,299 yuan or $332, which is significantly cheaper compared to similarly-specced phones. But remember, at the moment, this phone is limited to China, and we are not sure if the same phone will be sold under a different name outside the domestic market. Still, we will keep you posted as we hear more about it.
