The OnePlus Open surprised us all when it launched and easily became one of the best foldable phones in the market. For me, at least, it is the best foldable phone that was released in 2023, and I am sure that a lot of other people would also agree with me. The company talked about how it will be a lot more durable than other foldable phones in the market, which is a big claim, to be honest. However, the latest durability test shows just how good the phone actually is.
The OnePlus Open does not bend or crack and becomes one of the more durable foldable phones
Our favorite phone tester, JerryRigEverything, decided to take the OnePlus Open for a spin, and considering how Zack has managed to bend both the OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 11, I was a bit skeptical, but to my surprise, and to Zack's surprise, the foldable survived as much as any foldable could. Have a look at the video below:
Now, it would be unfair if I said that I sat through the entire video without being at the edge of my seat once. I was, actually, at the edge of my seat during the bend test, but thankfully, the phone did not get completely bent. Sure, you saw the normal bend and even the glass slightly popping out, but it was not a catastrophe. For a foldable phone, the OnePlus Open did spectacularly well - much better than the Pixel Fold that was also released earlier this year, and honestly, this has allowed me to have some more faith in foldable phones.
One thing that you should note is that even though this OnePlus Open durability test felt more like torture, this is not indicative of the daily use that many people are going to get out of this device. So, if you are worried that the device might not last in your hands, just look at this video, and you will get the answers for yourself because it certainly is one of the more durable phones available on the market.
