Google does not have a one-track mind when it decides to remove or add a feature. The tech giant ditched menu button for the recent apps button. At this point, most of the Android users are used to the recent apps button, but now Google thought of bringing back the menu button with the Pixel 2 lineup.

The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones are now ready to be shipped to those who pre-ordered them online. At the time of launch, Google did not reveal much about the hidden menu option on the Pixel 2. We must say, it is a neat feature that Google integrated into the new phones.

As it turns out, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL feature three navigation buttons - Back button, Home button, and multitasking button. There is a fourth menu option that it is embedded in the lower right corner, next to the multitasking button.

This functionality has been under wraps, but Android Police deciphered it "accidentally". After the news broke out, reviewers with Pixel 2 units have confirmed it. It's worth noting that this button does not work on every app as this feature on Android had been removed ages ago. For some apps though, it can come handy for the users.

Here's how Pixel 2 users can know about apps that support the hidden menu button. If an app supports it, then you will feel a vibration and the menu will appear on the screen. For apps like Google Chrome, this button will bring menu option in a jiffy.

Initial thoughts on this feature were that it might be a part of Oreo, but it's not showing up on 1st-gen Pixel phones. Buyers who have got their Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL phone, can use this hidden feature for apps like Settings app. It does not work in Google Maps, Inbox, or Photos.
