The Pixel 8 Pro is finally going official in a little over two weeks, and so far, we have heard a lot of interesting things about the upcoming phone. The Pro variant will be the obvious choice for anyone looking for a top-of-the-line experience in terms of hardware and software. Thankfully, Google does not differ drastically in terms of hardware between the base and pro variants, so there is not much to worry about. However, the latest rumor suggests that the Pro variant could pack a better camera, which is one thing to remember.

Google's decision to go with Samsung's GN2 sensor for the Pixel 8 Pro could give the phone better picture quality when compared to the iPhone 14 Pro and the Galaxy S23 Ultra

Now, based on the tip we have received, Google has decided to go with Samsung's GN2 sensor for the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro, a rather promising sensor that offers just the right amount of megapixels. The sensor has a size of 1/1.2" and maxes out at 50-megapixel.

Thankfully, Google will not be going for the GN3 sensor, which is not as good for a flagship. The GN2 for Pixel 8 Pro makes perfect sense as it is larger than most of the other flagship phone cameras. For instance, the iPhone 14 Pro has a sensor size of 1/1.28", and the Galaxy S23 Ultra has a sensor size of 1/3", making the GN2 an excellent choice.

This means that the Pixel 8 Pro could offer a better camera than the iPhone 14 Pro and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. A larger sensor means that the camera will be able to use more light in the pictures, which will ultimately result in better pictures. It is still not a 1-inch sensor, but considering how Google has decided to go with the Samsung GN2 is an excellent decision.

The Pixel phones have always been known for their stellar camera, and paired with the GN2. I believe that the Pixel 8 Pro could easily become one of the best phones in the industry when it comes to picture quality and how much detail it renders in photos.

Of course, having good hardware is one thing, but Google is also known to have one of the best post-processing that is done on the phone, so I am expecting some stunning images from the Pixel 8 Pro.
