The official announcementand NBA ad have come forth, and just to get potential buyers excited, a promo video of the Pixel Fold leaked shortly after. Google has teased some features of the device and also intends to bring some additions in the future.
Google plans to bring ‘Dual Screen’ support to the Pixel Fold in Fall 2023
A few hours before the I/O 2023 keynote, Twitter user SnoopyTech shared the promo video on the microblogging social network, showing the Pixel Fold from all angles. Some parts of the video below reveal the handset’s water-resistance ability, which is always a plus, and there are some hinge tricks that Google has implemented in its first foldable flagship. For instance, the hinge can sit up when the Pixel needs to be placed on the table for seamless video calling.
Another part of the promo video shows that Google is calling the Pixel Fold the ‘thinnest foldable’ but also provides a disclaimer that reads ‘in markets where the Pixel Fold is sold.’ There is a feature that the advertising giant will not make available until later this year. The video shows something called ‘Dual Screen’ support, and while the clip did not reveal any major clues, we may have an idea of what Google is referring to.

We saw Android’s split-screen multitasking option being seamlessly carried out on the Pixel Fold, but the strange revelation here is that this option is a part of the system feature, so why delay it to this particular model? There is also a ‘drag and drop’ feature, but it could not be related to the ‘Dual Screen’ support feature because these two are entirely different.
While we will provide updates during Google I/O 2023, let us review some key specifications of the Pixel Fold; it will ship with a 5.8-inch outer OLED panel and a 7.6-inch OLED screen, and yes, both displays will support the 120Hz refresh rate. Underneath the hood, the Tensor G2 SoC is present and will be complemented by up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. During the official announcement, Google aims to introduce 256GB and 512GB storage versions. Its official price is said to be $1,799 for the base model, so prepare your wallets if you wish to make this your future daily driver.
