The Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+ are finally here, and they are some of the most powerful smartphones in the market that you can get your hands on. Provided you are okay with how aggressive they look. These gaming phones are built using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, offer better design than their predecessors, and even have shoulder keys, RGB fans, and more.

Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+ are remarkably powerful and completely decked out with the best specs you can get

Unlike some of the other companies, Red Magic has decided that they will not put major differentiations between both devices. Therefore, the Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+ are similar in every way, except for the battery capacity, charging speed, and RAM. So, what will you get from this behemoth of a smartphone?

Well, for starters, both the Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+ offer a 6.8-inch flat AMOLED display. BOE is supplying these screens, and you get a 120Hz refresh rate. There is no front camera cutout as the phone uses an under-display camera, which clearly shows that the focus here is mainly gaming. The display is also rated at 1,600 nits peak brightness with 2,160Hz PWM dimming. You also get an under-display fingerprint reader, which works as a heart rate monitor, something I am really interested in seeing.

The basic Red Magic 9 Pro comes with 12GB LPPDR5X RAM and a choice of either 256GB or 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The Pro+ variant comes in 16/24 gigs of RAM and offers up to 1TB storage. Both phones also have an ICE cooling system, which does look promising as it covers an area of 10,182 mm2. Red Magic claims that the new cooling system helps the phone run a lot cooler, has a graphene layer below the screen, and a larger air duct that will deliver better airflow. There is a fan inside the device that can spin at an insane RPM of 22,000 and has 30% better thermal conductivity.

Regardless of your variant choice, the Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+ are made out of aviation-grade aluminum frames and a flat glass back. There is no camera bump on the back, and the camera system offers a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

The Red Magic 9 Pro offers a massive 6,500 mAh battery with 80W wired charging. The Pro+ brings a 5,500 mAh battery with 165W fast charging, which is insane, to say the least.

Both the Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+ are available in black, transparent white, and transparent black. The pricing for the Pro variant is shown below:

The phones will be sold on November 28th in China, but there's no word on the international pricing and availability. You can expect that to come out soon, as well. Needless to say, the Red Magic 9 and 9 Pro+ are two of the most powerful smartphones on the market, and I am really looking forward to the real-world tests to see what they are capable of.
