The upcoming Redmi Pro is expected to be announced on July 27 and will be packing impressive hardware and features underneath its hood. However, those hardware and feature upgrades does not necessarily translate in the device being stamped with an affordable price now does it?
Higher-End Redmi Pro Model Could Carry A $210 Price Tag – Will Cost More When Shipped To Other Regions
According to the details posted by a screenshot from Weibo (given below), it states that the price tag of the upcoming handset is going to be in between the range CNY 1299-1399, which translates in to a price tag of $210. Keep in mind that these pricing details are only going to be for consumers living in China, so when the smartphone gets shipped off to overseas regions, that price tag would exponentially increase. Another thing to note here is that the individual has stated that a Helio X20 is going to be a part of the hardware even though Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi already teased that a Helio X25 is going to be present.
For those that don’t know, MediaTek Helio X25 is a slightly more powerful variant of Helio X20. Both chipsets feature Cortex-A72 and Cortex-A53 cores that are paired together in ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture and will feature the following processing cores and clock speeds.
Helio X25 (MT6797T)
Two Cortex-A72 cores running at 2.5GHzFour Cortex-A53 cores running at 2.0GHzFour Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.55GHzARM Mali-T8800 running at 850MHz
The powerful SoC will deliver the much needed performance, but the presence of 10 cores with a higher clock speed will spell disaster for the battery life. However, it has been reported that Redmi Pro will feature a massive 4,100mAh battery underneath the hood.
While a Helio X25 is going to be present, more info also suggests that 4GB of RAM is going to be a part of the hardware. While this is most impressive, we suspect that a Snapdragon 652 could be present in the international variant of the device. This is probably not going to be the only dual-camera smartphone from Xiaomi, since there are rumors that both Mi Note 2 and Mi5s will come stacked with the same upgrade, but it could be the most affordable dual-camera smartphone that you guys could ever come across.
The release of Redmi Pro could allow the price of Redmi Pro 3 to further reduce. Even now, the affordable Snapdragon 650 powered smartphone costs less than $200 on Gear Best and is supplemented by 3GB of RAM and an astounding 4,000mAh battery, making it a great purchase for those that want a powerful Android smartphone that goes easy on their wallets.
