The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 are making their debut later this year, and we are aware of those. However, a new rumor now suggests that Samsung might be working on a third foldable device with triple devices or a tri-fold, in other words. The foldable in question will open and close like a book, and honestly, there is evidence of this because Samsung has already showcased that such technology exists.
Samsung could scrap the Galaxy S23 FE and release another foldable later this year with the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5
Yogesh Brar tweeted that Samsung is importantly working on a tri-fold phone that "might" ship later this year. Again, it is just speculation at this point, and we cannot confirm whether or not it will happen. What we can confirm, though, is that Samsung has shown a working prototype of the said technology, so it might as well come out.
Here is the tweet:
There is no Galaxy S23 FE in the development chain unlike what the recent rumours have been pointing..
Samsung is instead working on the improved Z Fold 5 & Flip 5 along with a Tri-Fold that might finally ship this year
FE fans should look elsewhere...

Now, I would highly advise that you take this rumor with a grain of salt. Why? Well, Samsung has been releasing the fold and the flip devices for years now, and considering the work that has gone into improving those devices, it would not be fair to them if something else steals the limelight. Aside from that, we have not heard a single rumor that there might be another foldable device later this year. As much as I would love to see something that cool, chances, at least right now, are slim.
Brar's tweet also had another exciting piece of information that suggests that Samsung isn't working on the Galaxy S23 FE, something we have previously heard about being in development. Again, this is just a rumor, and we are still a few months away from August. So, we cannot say for sure precisely what is going on.
Returning to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, we will still have to wait some time before these devices are finally out. You should expect to see more leaks, renders, and our first look at what the phones are going to be sporting. But for now, we suggest that you are not looking forward to a third foldable device, even though it would be cool to see something like that.
Do you think Samsung should go for another foldable device this year, or should the company stick to the tried and tested Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
