Samsung Could Launch the Galaxy S23 FE In Certain Regions As Early As July To Make Up For Poor Sales Of The Galaxy S Series-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 8:09 AM

Samsung started this year with a bang when the Galaxy S23 series came out, and while there is enough evidence that tells us that the new flagships are selling better than the previous ones, it still isn't enough by Samsung's standards, and that is the reason why the company is looking to launch the Galaxy S23 FE, a lot sooner than some may have expected.

Samsung will have to carefully price the Galaxy S23 FE because of tough competition from within the company's portfolio as well as other phones coming later this year

According to a tweet from reliable tipster @Tech_Reve, Samsung could launch the Galaxy S23 FE before it launches its foldable devices, which are scheduled for later this year. This shouldn't come as a surprise because the track record for these Fan Edition devices has been inconspicuous at best, and we cannot really tell when the company drops a phone.

The source mentions that Samsung is going for an early release of the Galaxy S23 FE because of the sluggish sales of the Galaxy S series as a whole, and the company wants to make more profit by selling a bit more affordable offering. The phone is only going to be launched in certain regions, so you can expect limited availability.

Due to the sluggish sales of the S series, there are predictions that Samsung Electronics will release the 'Galaxy S23 FE' in certain regions before the launch of the new foldable phone. In this case, the Galaxy S23 FE is expected to be released around July or August. https://t.co/pxlXiNybq5

Now, the Galaxy S23 FE has been in the rumor mill for some time, and we do know that it will feature an Exynos 2200 instead of the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. We don't know if there are going to be other corners cut this time around, but Samsung does need to price it carefully because the Galaxy A54 already makes up for a strong mid-range device, so anything between $600 to $700 would make sense, but pricing it higher would be a very wrong decision.

Sadly, the Galaxy S23 is not selling as well as Samsung had hoped, with May seeing a decline in sales, and there is a 20% drop expected in the second quarter of this year, which is not going to be a good sign for Samsung. Therefore, releasing a Fan Edition makes more sense as the company could end up enjoying some profit for this mid-ranger.

Considering how July is not that far, we might get to hear about Samsung's next adventure with a new affordable device, and you never know, the company could sneakily drop the Galaxy S23 FE. Let's hope it happens because I really am looking forward to the device and how the company manages to deliver a stellar experience at a lower cost.
