The wait is finally over. Samsung has released its latest android flagship to the world and dare I say it is a beast of a phone. Samsung, having already beaten its competitors by becoming the largest smartphone vendor in the world, is surely going to sweep the smartphone market with its sleek, stylish yet powerful Galaxy S3. The head of Samsung Mobile CommunicationsMr. JK Shin introduced theGalaxy S3 asthe best-in-class smartphone in the world. He also added that the S3 is inspired by nature and will be environment friendly.Most of the rumors that were leaked here by us have been proven correct and yes Galaxy S3 will be launched in pebble blue and marble white color. Enough of the background, now let's get to the business.

Salient Design Features:

The Galaxy S3 is powered by theQuad-core 32nm ARM Cortex A9 1.4 GHz processor on a Exynos 4212 Quad chipset which has enough processing power to put modern-day netbooks to shame. Adding to that it comes packed with 1 GB of memory ensuring that its users won't experience any lag while using it. Its one of the more attractive features is its large and crisp display. The screen is4.8" inches with 16M-color HD 720P Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with Gorilla Glass and despite the generous screen size, the size ofGALAXY S3is only 22% larger than theGALAXY S2due to a reduced bezel.The touch screen display issuper fast with a 0.01ms response speed & is more energy-efficient thus ensuring longer battery life.

Coming to the camera which is a bit of a let off as we were expecting a 12 MP camera but got 8MP. However, even an amateurphotographerknows that there is more to a camera than its pixel count. Making up for the pixel count Samsung has packed the Galaxy S3's camera withLED flash, zero shutter lag, 'Burst shot' to take multiple photos simultaneously, 'Best photo' whichautomaticallydecides which is the best picture from a set of pictures of a particular object, 'Face zoom' and 'Group tag'. A new feature in Galaxy S3 is that you can shoot a video and take a picture at the same time. It will also have a 1.9 MP front facing camera for HD video calls. With all these features Galaxy S3 can easily be usedin placeof any run of the mill point-and-shoot camera.

The Galaxy S3 will come in16/32/64GB storage sizes and to the relief of many, it will contain an external microSD card slot. The biggest apparent draw back of the Galaxy S3 is its tiny battery of only2100 mAh. It remains to be seen if it can put up with the powerful features in the phone and yet manage to provide a satisfactory battery time. The S3 is quiet sleek, measuring8.6mm in thick and weighs 133grams.

Other Design Features:

Now to the wonder features. Samsung has got the answer to the Apple's Siri in its latest Galaxy S3. It features a demo of 'S Voice' which listens, responds quickly and understands 8 different languages!Another trait of Galaxy S3 is wireless charging which means that you can charge your S3 without the hassle of any wires and that too at asizabledistance from any electric socket. The new 'Smart Alert' feature ensures you don't miss notifications, while 'Social Tag' keeps you up-to-date with friends & family.With ‘Smart Stay’ the S3 uses the front-facing camera to detect if you’re looking at it, so it knows whether to keep the screen awake or not. This is a feature which has been lacking in smartphones and Samsung has yet again come to the consumers rescue with this feature.Through Wi-Fi Channel Bonding, one can enjoy double the Wi-Fi bandwidth by using mutliple Wi-Fi connections simultaneously. The Galaxy S3 will get its connectivity fromWi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0+HS, standard microUSB port,GPS receiver with A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, TV-out, USB-on-the-go as well as the Near Field Communication (NFC) chip.Other featuresincludeTouchWiz 4.0 UI, DivX/XviD codec support, built-in accelerometer, multi-touch input, proximity sensor, gyroscope sensor, Swype text input, RGB light etc.

The Galaxy S3 will beavailable from May 29 in Europe, and a 10 city world tour will also begin at the same time. The Galaxy S3 appears to be a game changer in the smartphone market but it remains to be seen if it will garner same level of success for Samsung as its predecessor ,the Galaxy S2, did.
