Samsung Registers The Trademarks ‘AI Phone’ And ‘AI Smartphone’ For The Galaxy S24, Hinting At The Flagship Lineup’s Upgraded Capabilities-April 2024
Apr 3, 2026 4:39 AM

The three Galaxy S24 models are expected to outpace the competition with new AI capabilities that Samsung intends to incorporate, with the recently announced Exynos 2400and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 also providing a solid foundation in this regard. The Korean giant likely intends to market a few terms of the recent trademarks that it has registered, with evidence revealing those terms to be ‘AI Phone’ and ‘AI Smartphone.’

Samsung was previously reported to bring generative AI to all Galaxy S24 models

Shortly after filing for the ‘Samsung Glasses’ trademark earlier this month, the company went ahead and filed not one but two trademarks; ‘AI Phone’ and ‘AI Smartphone.’ The Korean giant has been reported to introduce generative AI to all Galaxy S24 models early next year, but there is no word on how such a program will behave when running on the 2024 flagship series. GalaxyClub, who spotted these trademarks, also reports that Samsung is working on other trademarks, such as Magic Pixel, Flex Magic, and Flex Magic Pixel, though their uses have not been mentioned.

As for the ‘AI Phone’ and ‘AI Smartphone,’ trademarks, Sammobile reports that since these are generic in names, it is possible that Samsung is not granted these. However, their filing suggests that the company is looking to effectively market the Galaxy S24 lineup and also give the three models features that will outmatch the Galaxy S23 family and competitors with upgraded capabilities, starting with AI.

Samsung registers new trademarks for the upcoming Galaxy S24 lineup

During the firm’s Exynos 2400 announcement, Samsung said it was running a demo through an Exynos 2400 reference board that could create a text-to-image using AI. With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm’s top-tier smartphone chipset can run on-device LLMs (Large Language Models) and run Stable Diffusion smoothly, showing that the hardware is already ready to tackle these tasks.

As for what Samsung plans on introducing, it could have more to do with the software part of the Galaxy S24 rather than the hardware, so while we do not have any accurate information at this time, we will come across more updates in the future. As most of you know, Samsung’s first ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ will reportedly be held in January 2024, so we will have more information for our readers then.
