There is no denying that Samsung sells a whole host of Android-powered devices, such as smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets. One would assume that smartphones manage to sell the most, but the latest report suggests that it is not the case because tablets are where Samsung is making the most amount of operating profit, and for a reason.

Reliable leaker and tipster @Tech_Reve has talked about how Samsung recorded a 300 billion KRW profit, which roughly equals $227 million, which is a substantial amount. Still, the exciting part is that this amount means that the profit margin of tablets is at around 10 percent, whereas for smartphones and smartwatches, you are looking at 7 to 8 percent.

Samsung is making more profits on tablets than it is on smartphones or smartwatches, but there is nothing to worry about

Before we start saying that Samsung phones are terrible, that is not the case. The simplest reason why tablets recorded a higher operating profit and profit margin is that when you are looking at Android tablets, there is not much that the market has to offer in the first place. However, the smartphone market is very different, and there is extremely stiff competition for almost all the companies, and getting higher operating profit is not easy.

Now, it is also worth noting that this does not indicate that the tablets, smartphones, and smartwatches made by Samsung are bad in any way. As a matter of fact, Samsung enjoys the highest market share in smartphonesand is the biggest company to sell Android tablets. Whatthese numbers do mean is that Samsung is earning better with its tablets than it is with its smartwatches and smartphones.

However, one should remember that Samsung's primary focus will remain on its smartphones. We will still be seeing the Galaxy A, Galaxy S, and Galaxy Z series phones released every year, along with Galaxy F and Galaxy M models that are specific for certain regions. As for the tablets, Samsung is churning out some pretty solid offerings, and the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series is certainly something that looks like it is going to deliver a promising experience.

Pushing Samsung out of business will be incredibly difficult, if not impossible, and we will be seeing some excellent offerings going forward. Rest assured, if you use their products, there is nothing to worry about.
