Samsung Requests Suppliers to Be Extra Careful About Galaxy S8 leaks
May 8, 2024 7:33 PM

The Galaxy Not 7 fiasco has not just left Samsung’s brand name in shambles, but the tech giant is also attempting to make sure that no crucial leaks of its Galaxy S8 are divulged. In order to be as careful as possible, the company is requesting all individuals that are directly or indirectly linked to the production of the upcoming flagship to remain mum on the situation.

Samsung Has Also Asked Everyone to Tighten Security So That Major Leaks of Galaxy S8 Do Not Unnecessarily Get Spilled

According to Samsung, the leaks of Galaxy S8 can lead to irreversible consequences:

“Leaks of operational secrets can cause irreversible ramifications, posing a great financial risk on the company and leading to broken partnerships and loss of trust.”

Thanks to this, Samsung has urged both its employees and executives alike to beef up security in order to avoid core information of the Galaxy S8 from being leaked. It is possible that the company wants to keep things under wraps since they want as much hype to be created for its upcoming flagship as possible. The company has lost a substantial amount of market value due to the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, with one analyst predicting that this incident could lead to 7 million customers moving away from the company’s phones and in search of a better alternative. Samsung earlier on was also forced to sell its stake in a variety of tech companies, possibly to raise cash.

One Samsung official has also stated the following:

“Samsung has notified its suppliers not to mention a single word on the Galaxy S8.”

From what we know so far, the company has already started work on the software of the flagship, but we don’t know the extent of how different it is going to be from its predecessors. The software could be changed to take advantage of the dual-camera that we keep hearing about from the flagship, as well as the fact that there could be two variants of different screen sizes and resolutions announced during the month of February.

With Samsung already announced its 10nm FinFET chips for mobile devices, upcoming phones like the Galaxy S8 are going to exhibit unrivaled processing capabilities, which will also make them compatible with the resource hungry Daydream platform.
