Feb 12, 2026 8:28 AM

Samsung has started to send out press invites for the Mobile World Congress 2017. However, unlike previous years, there is no big news. The event that will introduce a mystery device - NOT the Samsung Galaxy S8 - will take place on February 26 during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Date: February 26 (Sun) 19:00 CET (Doors open at 18:00)

Venue: Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, Barcelona (Address: Avinguda Diagonal, 661-671, 08028 Barcelona, Spain)

Samsung will unveil new products during a press conference that will be live streamed onwww.samsung.com/galaxyandSamsung Newsroom.

Samsung teases a tablet for MWC

It isn't clear what the South Korean phone maker is planning to unveil at the event. Several reports and the company itself had confirmed that the release of Galaxy S8 will be delayed this year. While announcing theresults of its investigationinto Note 7 explosions, the company had said it will take steps to ensure something similar does not happen with the Galaxy S8.Reports suggest that the Galaxy S8 is likely to be launched in March.

But, that doesn't mean Samsung would disappoint at MWC, 2017. The tweet that went out today gives us a glimpse of what is going to be revealed. A Galaxy Tab S3? It certainly doesn't look like a phone. Rumors earlier in the week had suggested that the 9.6-inch Galaxy Tab S3 will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and a 12-megapixel rear camera. The tablet will be running on Android 7.0 Nougatand is expected to be priced at $599.

Don't forget to notice the usual branding of "unpacked" from the press invitation is missing, further confirming that it is definitely not going to be theGalaxy S8. But, whatever Samsung has planned for the event, we can't wait to see it on February 26.

In the meantime, don't forget to share your own guesses and expectations with us too.
