Samsung has unveiled its highly anticipated Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, which come with a plethora of major upgrades compared to its predecessor. It packs faster internals, a familiar Galaxy design, and the latest software packed with many features. If you are familiar with the Galaxy-branded watches from Samsung, you will feel right at home with the latest iterations but with an enhanced experience.
Samsung's Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic unveiled with a familiar design and major software features
One of the biggest changes, in my opinion, is the addition of One UI Watch 5 based on Wear OS 4. The wearables are one of the first watches to launch with Wear OS 4, and it will offer a boatload of features and enhancements to users ranging from UI design changes to a fluid user experience. The software will work with Samsung's BioActive Sensor to offer a range of health and activity tracking features.
Samsung's BioActive sensor will measure heart rate, electrical heart signals, bioelectric impedance analysis, and temperature for various scenarios. The Sleep Score Factors in One UI Watch 5 provide a detailed analysis of the quality of sleep that a user is getting. Users will also get a Sleep Consistency score. Once the Galaxy Watch 6 or Galaxy Watch 6 Classic has gathered amole data, it will offer coaching with tips for better sleep. The fabric bands that it comes with provide comfort for sleep tracking. Additional features related to health tracking involve personalized heart rate zones for anyone utilizing the exercises recommended by the running suite.

In terms of design and form factor, there are little to no changes. On the Classic variant of the Galaxy Watch 6, there is now a rotating bezel. The standard Galaxy Watch 6 features the same design as that of its predecessor. As mentioned earlier, one of the biggest changes is in the software and features part of the mix. The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic comes with a stainless steel finish, while the standard model features an aluminum chassis.

As for internals, the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic are powered by the Exynos W930 chip coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage capacity. The Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic feature a 425mAh battery which will deliver around 40 hours of life. As for the display, the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic come with a Super AMOLED display covered by a sapphire crystal for enhanced durability when it comes to scuffs and scratches. The display brightness can go up to 2,000 nits in direct sunlight, which will make it easier for you to view the contents of the display.
The Galaxy Watch 6 is available in Graphite, Gold, and Silver, starting at $299 for the 40mm edition. The bigger variant will cost around $329 in Gold. The 43mm Galaxy Watch Classic will cost you $399, and the 47mm version will be available for $429. You can order the wearables starting today through Samsung's website. The wearable will hit the shelves on August 11. Samsung has also announced its latest Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, so be sure to check that out as well.
