Apple is working on a wide range of products that will launch in the coming months. As per the reported roadmap shared by Mark Gurman, the company is working on new Apple Watch models, including the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra, OLED iPad Pro, iPad Air with upgraded internals, and much more. While some products will launch later this year in the fall alongside the new iPhone 15 lineup, others are slated to arrive sometime next year.
2024 iPad Pro models to come with OLED display technology, a faster M3 chip, and much more
The iPad Pro models are due for an upgrade, and we are expecting major changes in terms of display technology and performance capabilities. Henceforth, we can safely presume that the OLED iPad Pro would be worth upgrading to. Mark Gurman states in his latest Power On newsletter that the company has planned the launch to take place in 2024. We have been hearing details on the iPad Pro and what it might bring to the table for a while.
It was previously reported that Apple would ship the new iPad Pro models with an OLED display. Currently, the company offers a mini-LED display on the bigger 12.9-inch model of the iPad Pro, while the standard model features an LCD panel. The mini-LED display is superior to the LCD, but it still lacks some of the benefits of the OLED panel. For instance, OLED panels are more power efficient and color accurate compared to the mini-LED display. We have also heard that the company will offer OLED technology on both sizes of the iPad Pro.

The company is also expected to launch a bigger 14-inch version of the iPad Pro with an OLED display and a flagship-grade processor. The device would ditch the M3 chip in favor of an M3 Pro chip, similar to the MacBook Pro models. However, details on the device are scarce at this stage, and the final word rests with Apple. The OLED iPad Pro models will ship with Apple's upcoming M3 chips, which will deliver enhanced computational and graphical performance. The M3 chip will be fabricated on TSMC's 3nm process, which will focus on efficiency. Apple will also upgrade the iPad Air with an M2 chip next year.
In terms of design, we have not seen any major leaks or rumors, but the company could upgrade some aspects of the design. This is because the iPad Pro models looked more or less the same since 2018. Henceforth, the 2024 iPad Pro models will feature significant changes that take advantage of iPadOS 17's new features, including the ability to run a full-blown version of Final Cut Pro.
