2023 is proving to be an excellent year for clamshell foldable phones. We witnessed the launch of the OPPO Find N2 Flip for the global market with its big external/cover display, then we heard some interesting information about the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5, and now, we know that the next Motorola Razr phone that will be debuting this year will have a massive cover display. it is time for the competition to get worried.

Renowned leaker Evan Blass came forward with renders of the Motorola Razr phone, showing a massive cover-display that covers almost the entire back side of the phone and even goes beyond the dual camera setup.

I do understand if you are picturing a weird-looking phone but look at the renders below to know that it looks practical:

You can see just how big the cover display on Motorola Razr is and it makes sense since with a display this big, you will not have to open up your phone every time you have to make a phone call, send a text, or even check for notifications. I mean, the display is perfectly placed on the back, and while it might raise some concerns about damage to the outer screen, you might be able to get away with a screen protector.

Now, considering how this external display only covers the upper half of the Motorola Razr, it is safe to say that it will be glass and not the foldable plastic found on the main display. So, as far as durability is concerned, you only have to protect it from scratches.

Another interesting thing that you can notice is the UI itself. Motorola Razr seems to have UI optimized for the smaller screen on the back, so you do not have to worry about any warped text or images falling off the screen. The implementation looks rock solid.

Sadly, there is not much known about the new Motorola Razr except that it will probably be coming out sometime this year. Unlike other companies, Motorola is not keen on hosting events, so you can expect this phone to just release one day out of nowhere. So, make sure you are looking forward to the release.
