If you are looking for the best Android smartphone at the time of writing, I cannot think of anything better than the Xiaomi 14 series; both phones are excellent in every single way and are also powered by the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. However, owing to the new chipset, you have to understand that older apps that are built on the 32-bit support might not work properly or at all.

Xiaomi 14 series can run your old apps like Flappy Bird and others that are 32-bit ARM only

Thankfully, the Xiaomi 14 series has taken this into consideration by adding a translator within the phone to ensure that apps that are built for 32-bit ARM actually work on the new phone. This means you will no longer have to worry that your older apps might stop working for one reason or another.

Developer realMlgmXyysd went into detail explaining how the Xiaomi 14 series is using a cool trick in the form of a 32-bit to 64-bit binary translator called Tango. This translator ensures that older apps have an easier time running on the new chipset.

Thanks to this translator, the Xiaomi 14 series became one of the first smartphones in the market to support older apps. In case you do not know, Google is no longer accepting 32-bit-only versions of apps on Play Store, which means that all the apps that are on the Play Store must have support for both versions so they can run. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, on the other hand, does not have any cores that support the 32-bit ARM apps, and with this translator, it is possible for the chipset to run older apps that have not been updated.

We are not sure if other OEMs that will be using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets in their phones are going to use a similar translator or not, but considering how most of the modern apps are already running on the 64-bit architecture, I am sure that this is not something that will be a cause for concern.
