Mint Mobile is one of the best carriers when you are looking for affordable and effective solutions, and today, it is bought by one of the largest carriers, T-Mobile. For those who don't know, Mint Mobile is partially owned by our favorite merc with a mouth Ryan Reynolds, and after the transaction, Reynolds will be staying on board in his creative roles.
T-Mobile's acquisition of Mint Mobile could go for as high as $1.35 billion based on how the company performs during the deal
Based on the deal, T-Mobile will get access to Mint's wireless services, Ultra Mobile and Plum. Considering how these brands are already using T-Mobile for their network, this match seems like it was supposed to happen in the first place. Thankfully, these units will still be separate from T-Mobile's operations.
Mike Sievert, CEO of T-Mobile, and Ryan Reynolds also announced this on Twitter. Reynolds then talked about how proud and grateful he is for this deal in a tweet that you can look at below:
I never dreamt I’d own a wireless company and I certainly never dreamt I’d sell it to T-Mobile. Life is strange and I’m incredibly proud and grateful. #MintMobile

For those wondering, T-Mobile is acquiring Mint's sales, marketing, digital, and service operations. The goal here is to ensure that both companies can work together and introduce several low-cost solutions for consumers all over the U.S. T-Mobile has also talked about how both companies will work in complete harmony, and by playing the cards right, Mint Mobile will see its direct to consumer business model getting even better than before.
At the time of writing, this deal has no actual price. The price will be determined once Mint's performance over a specific period before and after the deal is finished, which is supposed to happen somewhere by the end of the year. However, T-Mobile mentioned that the deal is valued at over $1.35 billion. The total amount will be split in cash and shares for the company.
The fact that T-Mobile has decided to go ahead with the purchase of Mint Mobile signals a great relationship for both companies. Mint already has an excellent consumer base thanks to the prepaid plans and offers the company has in place for its consumers. With T-Mobile at the helm, we can see Mint Mobile grow even faster and become one of the biggest carriers in the modern day. Plus, with Ryan Reynolds as a spokesperson and on the creative side, who wouldn't want to shift over to whatever these two companies have in store for us.
