Twitter Blue Is Finally Available Globally With Localized Pricing, Long Tweets, Prioritized Ranking, And More-January 2024
Jan 11, 2026 1:02 AM

The day is finally here as Twitter Blue is finally available across the world and brings all the promised features, and a few more are coming soon. The news of the new service launching also brings some bad news with it for those who were already granted the blue tick, as the platform has decided that they are going to start removing legacy blue ticks starting 1st April, later this year.

Twitter Blue can now be yours for $8 on the web and $11 on Android and iOS, with localized pricing for every region

As expected, Twitter Blue also brings a lot of functionality with it. Considering how the service is now rolling out globally, you can go ahead and subscribe to it. Here is a list of features that the company says will be coming to Twitter Blue:

Twitter Blue is now available globally! Sign up today to get your blue checkmark, prioritized ranking in conversations, half ads, long Tweets, Bookmark Folders, custom navigation, Edit Tweet, Undo Tweet, and more. Sign up here: https://t.co/SBRLJccMxD

For those wanting to subscribe, people in the U.S. will have to pay $8 a month on the web and $11 a month on Android and iOS. The added $3 makes up for what Google and Apple charge for in-app payments. The pricing varies from country to country; you can check more about the pricing here.

So, what do you get for Twitter Blue? You are going to get all the features that the platform plans on testing, you will also get tweets up to 4,000 characters, and you can edit tweets. Some features are unavailable, like cut-down cuts, priority in conversations, and more. Twitter does claim that they will be available soon.

The sad part is that Twitter is finally retiring the legacy blue check marks starting from April 1st. However, previously verified businesses can still apply for a new verification that will grant them a golden tick once approved.

On April 1st, we will begin winding down our legacy verified program and removing legacy verified checkmarks. To keep your blue checkmark on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue here: https://t.co/gzpCcwOpLp

Last but not least, "eligible government and multilateral accounts" can now apply for the grey tick mark, as well. You can check more about that here. This might be sad for a lot of people who have been verified in the past, but thankfully, Elon Musk has stated that any individual Twitter account that is affiliated with an organization will automatically be verified. So, that is still a good thing.
