Users Might Be Able To Use All Pixel 8 Pro Cameras Simultaneously For Better Night Sight Pictures-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 6:02 AM

Google's magic in photography is something that cannot be denied. Ever since the first Pixel phone came out, Google has constantly been updating the way we look at smartphone cameras, and this does not look like it is going to change with the upcoming Pixel 8 phones, either.

In particular, the Pixel 8 Pro could launch with a feature that would let users simultaneously use all the cameras on the device to take a single Night Sight photo. What would be the benefit? Well, you will get a single image with much more detail than what you would get if you just used a single camera.

Pixel 8 Pro would have even better Night Sight pictures thanks to Google's Multi-Camera Super Res Zoom

However, this is not something new. Google has previously done something similar with the camera on the Pixel 7 Pro. The Pixel 7 Pro could use the primary and telephoto cameras to take a single shot. The benefit? Well, you would have all the field of view of the primary camera, along with the center part being more refined, making the picture clearer across the board. This is how it works.

Folks over at 9to5Google found some references to Pixel 8 Pro in the latest Google Camera app. Apparently, based on the discovery, the "multi-camera super res zoom" that you see above is called "Hawk" and "FusionZoom." however, with the upcoming phone, Google is adding the ability to use these features for Night Sight shots as well, which theoretically means that the phones would be able to use multiple cameras to take a single shot that would have more detail.

Google Pixel 8 Pros' camera getting this feature is definitely a good way for the company to improve the features that it has been working on for such a long time. However, I am more excited to see how well Tensor G3 combines and processes this shot for the final image. We recently discovered that the upcoming Pixel 8 phones might feature something called Video Unblur, an extension to Photo Unblur that we saw in the Pixel 7 phones, but this time, for videos.

I am sure that as we move closer to release, we will hear more about what the new phones will be capable of, especially with the latest Tensor G3 under the hood and all its AI-driven capabilities. Let us know which feature you are most excited about in the Pixel 8 Pro.
