WhatsApp is slowly adding new features to make the overall experience better. Recently, we reported how the company is bringing a feature that would let you transfer your chats to a new Android phone without having cloud storage, and today, the same feature has popped up but for iPhones.
At the time of writing, if you have an iPhone, you can only migrate your chat history and media to another iPhone if you are using iCloud. This might sound convenient, but considering how WhatsApp has become the primary means of communication for almost everyone, sometimes, iCloud's default storage is not enough, which is why you need something better.
iPhones users will soon be able to transfer their chats and media using just a QR code
The new feature that WhatsApp is working on is dubbed "Transfer Chats to iPhone." The way it works is that you will need to download the app onto your new device, register it with the same number, and then use the old device to scan a QR code that shows up on a new device, and this would initiate a transfer process of your entire chat history, including media. Very, very convenient, I would say.
The feature was discovered by WABetaInfo, and is currently available to select WhatsApp beta users. But considering how it has already made its way to the beta channel, it is a high probability that it will eventually roll out to everyone. A feature like this is essential for everyone to have a seamless experience with the app.

It is also worth noting that the feature is currently available only on TestFlight, but we have a feeling that it will start rolling out to more beta users in the coming days and eventually will make its way to the stable channel.
As someone who frequently changes phones, I am glad that WhatsApp is bringing this feature to Android and iOS. The platform recently introduced a new feature that would let you use up to 4 devices on the same account. We are getting another feature that would let you lock individual chats behind biometric security. This is an excellent feature for those who are looking for more security. Hopefully, the company will keep adding new features to improve the overall user experience. We will keep you posted as we hear about more features coming to the app. Stay tuned!
