WWDC 2016 is all set to kick off next month from June 13 through 17, and here's everything we expect Apple will announce at the big developer oriented event.
Expect A Barrage Of Software Related Announcements At WWDC 2016, No Hardware
It should be made clear at this point that WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) is a developer oriented event therefore usersshouldn't hold their breath for hardware related announcements. If you're expecting Apple will announce the iPhone 7, iPad Air 3, a new MacBook Pro or maybe the Apple Watch 2, then you might feel a little disappointed at this point. But hey, it's still an exciting event in terms of software, and here's what Apple will announce at WWDC 2016.
iOS 10
iOS 10 will definitely make the headline at WWDC 2016, and Apple will take a bunch of time going through the features which the new mobile software will entail. At this given point in time, details regarding Apple's new mobile firmware for iPhone, iPad are sparse, but we're certain we will see some major leaks along the way leading up till the event.
OS X 10.12
Where there's a new mobile related announcement, there's definitely going to be love for the desktop as well, and OS X 10.12 will also make its debut at WWDC 2016. With features such as Siri about to make its way to the desktop, it would be interesting to see what sort of direction Apple takes this time around. Will it stick to power user features like El Capitan or add new feature additions to lure in Windows users? We'll know next month.
watchOS 3
watchOS 2 was a big upgrade over the original release, but watchOS 3 will definitely take things up a notch, all set to pave the way for the Apple Watch 2, which is bound for an announcement later this year. What watchOS 3 will bring with it is anyone's guess at this point, but it seems as though watchOS 3 will introduce features that would make Apple's wearable even less dependent on the iPhone.
tvOS 10
Apple's new shot in the world of entertainment with the Apple TV 4 is a sign that the company has a long way to go and a lot of spaces to conquer in the living room. And with the underlying software - tvOS - more powerful compared towhat was offered with the Apple TV 3, tvOS 10 will definitely things up a level with new and exciting features not available on Cupertino's set top box currently.
New Xcode And Swift
With new software across the board, it's a given that Apple will release new versions of Xcode and Swift, allowing developers to get their hands on the latest tools to conjure new apps and games or improve upon existing ones.
iTunes 13
It's been a while iTunes has been sitting at version 12, and there's a chance the Cupertino giant will finally unleash iTunes 13 at WWDC 2016.
