Xiaomi 13 Ultra Gets The Teardown Treatment, Disassembly Shows Massive Camera Configuration That Dwarfs Competition
Xiaomi 13 Ultra Gets The Teardown Treatment, Disassembly Shows Massive Camera Configuration That Dwarfs Competition-February 2024
Feb 13, 2026 1:24 AM

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra not only gained a significant foothold in the flagship market by offering the best-in-class hardware for an Android handset, but the company also managed to make the most of the limited space by using four 50MP sensors, including a 1-inch one with a variable aperture. To see the arrangement of all the cameras, plus the other components, one YouTuber got his hands on the premium device and began its disassembly.

Xiaomi fused the entire quadruple camera system into a single module, likely for space conservation

A Chinese YouTuber with the channel name ‘微机分WekiHome’ performed the teardown of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, and after a while, we saw one of the most intelligent decisions from the manufacturer, which was using a single module to incorporate the four 50MP sensors. This helps save up ample space, which is why despite measuring 6.73 inches diagonally, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is able to flaunt a large 5,000mAh battery, which is the same capacity present in the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The logic board featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 sports a top-tier cooling solution, along with ample thermal paste to help the temperatures in check. According to Xiaomi, its latest flagship not only runs cooler than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but it maintains a steady 60FPS framerate when recording 4K video, a feat that not many high-end smartphones are capable of achieving.

A closer look at the four cameras

Also, unlike Apple, who has a habit of using a chunk-load of screws of many types and quantity to keep the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s components in place, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra takes the complete opposite route, which is why it should be significantly easier to disassemble the flagship yourself. Looking at all the space saved, Xiaomi could have done its customer base a massive favor by incorporating a 3.5mm audio jack, but we cannot have everything we want.

With all the components laid out, the YouTuber shows how easy it is to piece everything back together, revealing that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra was likely designed with repairability in mind. Hopefully, the company will tone down the use of an aggressive UI, delivering a cleaner look to users, because then, things will really start to get exciting.
