After Apple confirmed that it had shut down Beeper Mini’s iMessage feature for Android smartphones, it caught the attention of U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren. Her latest post revealed that she is against firms such as the Cupertino giant and others who wish to generate profits by taking out the competition.
Senator Warren also states that green texts are less secure, unlike the end-to-end encrypted blue ones
At the end of the post published on X, Warren says that ‘Chatting between different platforms should be easy and secure,’ and while we agree with that statement in general terms, we should point out that Apple will be adopting RCS in 2024. Also, as reported by AppleInsider, Beeper Mini’s iMessage feature for Android required the app to actually pretend to be an Apple device and provide fake credentials to the company’s servers so that those messages could be passed between Android handsets.
Obviously, Apple would not allow this to happen under any circumstances since it would compromise the safety and privacy of iPhone users who actually take advantage of iMessage. Beeper Mini has claimed that its app is secure and uses end-to-end encryption between participants, just like iMessage, but at the end of the day, it is just a claim, and a future security incident can simply turn those words into hot air.
Green bubble texts are less secure. So why would Apple block a new app allowing Android users to chat with iPhone users on iMessage? Big Tech executives are protecting profits by squashing competitors.

Despite Apple shutting down the iMessage feature, Beeper Mini has said that it is working to issue an update that will seemingly circumvent this obstacle, and that only means locking horns with the largest technology company in the U.S. and possibly Apple taking legal action against Beeper Mini. Whether or not Senator Warren has attempted to take a dig at Apple because there was an opportunity to target such a company, or she deeply cares about security enough that she wishes Android users take advantage of iMessage, we do not know.
What we do know is that since the news has reached U.S. government officials, a lot more drama can unfold in the coming weeks, and as always, we will be here providing you with fresh updates, so stay tuned.
