WhatsApp Could Be Getting A Major UI Refresh, Making The App A Lot More Functional And Pleasing To The Eye-November 2024
Nov 9, 2024 11:53 PM

WhatsApp has been getting a decent stream of updates for some time, and for good reasons. These updates are making the app more functional, and there is a new update on the way that does not change the app in any drastic manner but does add a nice coat of paint. As it turns out, the Meta-owned app is getting a refreshed UI that does not change much but makes the UI much cleaner by changing some colors.

WhatsApp UI refresh makes the app look a lot better and more cohesive

WABetaInfo spotted WhatsApp for Android with this UI change, and as it appears, the dark green part at the top is gone now and is replaced by white, and the app font has also received a brighter shade of green. The rest of the elements remain more or less the same, but I honestly like this look.

Now, this UI refresh might not look like a big deal to a lot of people, but honestly, it has made WhatsApp a lot more cohesive. The green, white, and black elements work together really well and give the app a much cleaner look, and although it might look like just a refresh of the colors, it seems that the new change shows us some elements that have moved around.

Another major change that you see is you now have multiple tabs. You now have a tab that will show you all your messages, then there's a tab for unread messages, followed by a tab for personal and business messages. I think this is the right thing to do, but this does raise a question. If the business tab refers to messages that you receive on WhatsApp for Business, does it mean that both apps are going to merge?

We cannot be sure about it just now, and we also cannot confirm when these changes will start rolling out to the app. The new UI was spotted on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.18.18, and it is still under development, so it will take some time before the update finally starts rolling out to all users, but whatever the case is, we will keep you posted.
