One of the best things about the Galaxy Z Flip 5 looks to be the larger cover display. Several leaks over the past few months have confirmed that Samsung is going for a 3.4-inch cover display with a 720p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Rumors have also talked about how the outer display can be used for Google apps such as Maps, and now another tip has surfaced talking about how the screen will offer a fully fleshed-out camera app, as well.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5's cover display will feature a fully fleshed-out camera app and will allow the user to lock the cover display, as well
Based on a tip from Ahmed Qwaider on Twitter, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have all the camera settings on the cover display. This means that if you are looking to go ahead and use the rear cameras to take selfies, the option will be available. You will get all the settings that you would normally get inside the regular camera app.
This means that the two 12-megapixel cameras on the back can be used for some really nice selfies, and you can take the pictures you want with your Galaxy Z Flip 5. The best thing is that if you primarily want selfies, you won't have to go ahead and unfold your phone at all.
Another thing Qwaider revealed about the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is that Samsung will also allow users to lock the cover display. You can create a PIN or pattern lock for it, which makes me wonder just how much functionality the cover display will have. It also makes sense from the perspective that since you could use most of the apps on the cover display, it is better to have some degree of security, or else anyone would be able to access your phone easily.
Last but not least, the source reveals that when you unfold the Galaxy Z Flip 5 from 20 to 70-degree angle, the internal screen will still not work, and this is done to ensure that your phone's internal screen does not drain as much battery when used. Honestly, this is another clever feature coming to Samsung's upcoming foldable, and I hope that Samsung does something good for the Fold devices, too, because I am concerned about how they are turning out to be.
